About This Item
The Matchbox Road Roller 52/100 is a 2023 MBX Metro release featuring a green construction-vehicle body with contrasting red details and a large front compactor drum. This HKW63-4B10 variation combines Matchbox City-inspired graphics, a tall operator cab, rugged rear tire and realistic road-construction styling in a compact die-cast format.
The MB1289 Road Roller casting first appeared in 2022 and returned for 2023 in this green MBX Metro configuration. The model features the distinctive asymmetrical three-wheel road-roller layout, open cab design, exposed construction equipment details and a color scheme that stands out from the casting’s earlier yellow release.
Condition
This item is factory sealed in its original packaging. The supplied photos show the vehicle unopened inside the clear blister with the blister attached to the card. The card shows visible light edge and corner wear, including wear near the lower-right corner.
We may have multiple units of this item available, so the item you receive may differ slightly from the one shown in the photos.
Product appearance and packaging details may vary slightly from the photos shown.
The sealed-package presentation keeps the Matchbox vehicle, printed card or box artwork, series details, and identifying information together for storage or display. Minor differences in package edges, corners, surface marks, or clear blister appearance can occur between individual retail examples.
Why Collect This Model
The Matchbox Road Roller is a distinctive construction model that adds variety to collections centered on work vehicles, municipal equipment and Matchbox City releases. This 2023 green-and-red version is especially recognizable for its MBX Metro placement, 70 Years-era packaging and unusual road-roller body design.
Road Roller also works well in collections organized by Matchbox series, casting, manufacturer, vehicle type, or complete themed sets. The packaging and series identifiers help distinguish this particular issue from other versions of the same model.
