About This Item
The Hot Wheels Purple Passion HW Designed By 1/5 #005/250 is a 2025 1:64-scale mainline release of one of Larry Wood’s best-known custom Hot Wheels designs. This HYX55 variation features a white body with purple and black custom striping, purple-tinted windows, a purple interior, low-profile wheels, and the long, flowing body shape that has defined the Purple Passion casting for decades.
Purple Passion draws its styling inspiration from heavily customized early-1950s Mercury coupes, with a chopped roofline, rounded fenders, low stance, elongated rear bodywork, and a dramatic custom grille treatment. The smooth body surfaces and exaggerated proportions give the casting a traditional lead-sled and custom-car appearance while retaining the distinctive Hot Wheels styling created by designer Larry Wood.

Why Collect This Model
Purple Passion is one of Hot Wheels’ long-running custom-car castings and is closely associated with designer Larry Wood. The white body, purple detailing, low custom stance, classic lead-sled influence, and placement in the HW Designed By series give HYX55 strong appeal to collectors of traditional customs, lowriders, Larry Wood designs, and historic Hot Wheels fantasy castings.
Purple Passion also fits naturally into collections organized by casting, series, model year, vehicle type, or complete themed sets. Keeping the carded release together with its series information makes it easier to identify this specific variation when displayed alongside other Hot Wheels issues.
