Dragon Ball: Advanced Adventure is a side-scrolling beat 'em up and action-adventure game released for the Game Boy Advance (GBA). Developed by Dimps and published by Banpresto (and Atari in North America), it follows the story of young Goku from the very beginning of the series when he meets Bulma up to the final confrontation with King Piccolo. 

Gameplay Modes

The game is praised for its variety, featuring three distinct primary level designs within its story mode: 

• Platforming/Adventure: Traditional side-scrolling stages where Goku fights through various enemies, such as wild animals and Red Ribbon Army soldiers, using his Power Pole and hand-to-hand combat.
• Nimbus Levels: Aerial combat stages where Goku flies on his Flying Nimbus (Kinto'un) to take down airborne enemies in a "shoot 'em up" style.
• One-on-One Battle: A fighting-game style mode used for boss battles and World Martial Arts Tournament matches, featuring a more complex set of moves and a distinct camera perspective. 

Key Features

• Playable Characters: While you start as Goku, you can eventually unlock a roster of 30 playable characters, including Krillin, Yamcha, Jackie Chun, and even minor enemies.
• Extra Mode: Unlocked after beating the main story, this mode allows you to replay stages as different characters and access hidden areas blocked by "red doors".
• Multiplayer: The game supports a 2-player Versus mode via the GBA Link Cable.
• Mini-Games: Includes special challenges like "Catch Korin" and "Rock Crush".
