One of the most beloved (and overlooked) Mega Man games, can now be played in full color! This remaster turns the official Gamboy Mega Man V into a fully functional Gameboy Color game.

Mega Man World 5 DX is a fan-made, full-color remaster of the original 1994 Game Boy title Mega Man V.

Key Features of the DX Version

This version transforms the monochrome classic into a modern handheld experience. 

• Full Color Conversion: Provides a vibrant color palette designed to be faithful to the classic NES Mega Man games.
• Slowdown Removal: Utilizes the GBC's double-speed mode and optimized code to eliminate the significant frame-rate drops found in the original 1994 release.
• Updated Interface: Features an NES-styled pause screen and revised tilesets to better utilize the color palettes.
• Bug Fixes: Includes various animation and hitbox fixes to polish the gameplay. 

Gameplay and Story

Mega Man World 5 is unique in the handheld series because it does not reuse bosses from the NES titles. 

• Plot: Mega Man must defend Earth from the Stardroids, a group of alien robots named after planets (e.g., Mars, Venus, Jupiter) led by a powerful robot named Terra.
• The Mega Arm: Instead of the standard Mega Buster, Mega Man uses the "Mega Arm," a powerful projectile where he fires his own fist at enemies.
• New Companion: Introduces Tango the cat, a robotic pet that transforms into a buzzsaw to ricochet around the room and attack enemies.
