Pokemon Black 1 introduces players to Generation 5 Pokemon. It is set in the Unova region, a sprawling area based on New York City that features a mix of high-tech metropolitan landscapes and natural environments. 

Key Gameplay Features

• All-New Pokémon: The game features over 150 never-before-seen Pokémon. Until you complete the main story, you will only encounter these new species, a series first designed to provide a completely fresh experience.
• Version Exclusives:
• Legendary Pokémon: You can only capture the legendary "Vast White Pokémon," Reshiram, in this version.
• Unique Location: This version features Black City, an exclusive metropolitan area not found in the companion Pokémon White Version.
• New Battle Modes: It introduces Triple Battles and Rotation Battles, adding new layers of strategy to the traditional turn-based combat system.
• Dynamic Seasons: For the first time in the series, in-game seasons change every month. These changes affect Pokémon appearance rates, their colors/forms, and grant access to specific areas only reachable during certain seasons (e.g., snow drifts in winter).
• Starting Out: Players choose between a male or female trainer and select one of three new starter Pokémon: Snivy (Grass), Tepig (Fire), or Oshawott (Water). 

Story and Setting

As a young trainer starting in Nuvema Town, your journey involves collecting eight gym badges to challenge the Elite Four. Along the way, you must thwart the plans of Team Plasma, a mysterious organization led by the enigmatic N, who questions whether Pokémon should be "liberated" from human ownership.
