Pokemon Red for the Nintendo 64! Play this classic on your TV without the need for any additional hardware or accessories.

This cartridge also comes with some amazing built in features.

Press Down C to instantly save your game, then press and hold Up C to load the game.

My personal favorite new feature, is the ability to hold down Right C, and enable fast forward!

IMPORTANT - Make sure to not press Down C while in the menu. Only save when the game file has been loaded, and the main menu IS NOT OPEN.

Pokémon Red Version is one of the two original entries that launched the global Pokémon phenomenon on the Nintendo Game Boy. Released alongside Pokémon Blue, it challenges players to become the world's greatest Pokémon Trainer by exploring the expansive Kanto region.

Core Gameplay & Objective

  • The Mission: Your primary goals are to defeat the 8 Gym Leaders to earn their badges, overcome the Elite Four, and complete the Pokédex by collecting all 151 original Pokémon species.
  • Starting Your Journey: You begin in Pallet Town, where Professor Oak provides your first partner Pokémon. You choose between Bulbasaur (Grass), Charmander (Fire), or Squirtle (Water).
  • Version Exclusives: To "catch 'em all," you must trade with friends who own the Blue version, as certain Pokémon like Ekans, Oddish, and Arcanine are only found in Red.
  • Antagonists: Throughout your journey, you must thwart the plans of Team Rocket, a criminal organization led by the mysterious Giovanni.

Technical Legacy

Developed by Game Freak, Pokémon Red established many franchise standards, including turn-based "Rock-Paper-Scissors" elemental combat and the use of the Link Cable for social trading and battling. You can find more historical details on Wikipedia
