Pokemon Trading Card Game is a digital adaptation of the tabletop card game. It blends traditional role-playing elements with card-based strategy, following the journey of a protagonist named Mark who aspires to become a Pokémon Card Master. 

• The Quest: Much like the core series, you travel across the world to defeat eight Club Masters (equivalent to Gym Leaders) to earn Medals. Your ultimate goal is to challenge the four Grand Masters at the Pokémon Dome to inherit the Legendary Pokémon Cards.
• Card Collection: The game features over 200 cards, including most of the original Base Set, Jungle, and Fossil expansions, along with exclusive digital-only cards.
• Mechanics: It faithfully recreates the physical game’s rules, including energy management, evolution, and status effects. You start by choosing one of three starter decks: Charmander & Friends, Squirtle & Friends, or Bulbasaur & Friends.
• Dr. Mason: In place of Professor Oak, Dr. Mason serves as your mentor, providing advice, new booster packs via email, and access to powerful deck-building machines. 

Key Features

• Card Pop!: A unique local feature where two players use the Game Boy Color's infrared port to "pop" and generate a random new card for both.
• Multiplayer: Players can battle or trade cards using a Game Link Cable.
• Deck Building: You can save up to four custom decks at a time and use the Auto Deck Machine to build decks automatically once you have the required cards.
