The OREI EX-165+ HDMI extender allows you to transmit HDMI audio/video signals over Cat6/7 cable with zero latency along with maintaining original audio/video quality. It supports up to 1080p resolution and extends the transmission distance up to 165 feet (50 meters).

No, this product doesn't upscale/downscale the video resolutions.
The issue might be with the CAT cable. This might be due to the external interference of the signals & CAT5e has low bandwidth as compared to the CAT6. We recommend you using shielded CAT6 cable.
If the power and link led lights does not illuminate on the RJ45 port of the transmitter and the receiver, then the transmitter & receiver might be dead.

Please note that this product only supports the CEC function between HDMI input & HDMI output 1.
No, optical output doesn't supports CEC due to its limitations. CEC will work only with HDMI devices.
Try adjusting the EDID switches located on the back of the receiver to both the settings & try adjusting the EQ dip switches located on the side of the receiver according to the length of the CAT6 cable as shown in the manual.
You can extend the signals up to 165 feet while using shielded CAT6 cables.
Our all the extenders supports IR Frequency & the devices using RF frequency will not be compatible with our products.
The IR Blaster/Emitter should be connected to the IR out port on the Transmitter and the IR Receiver should be connected to the IR in on the Receiver.
