No, this product doesn't support the feature of downscaling or upscaling the audio signals. Whatever the audio signals that you're inputting, you will get that audio signal as an output.
You will be able to get up to 5.1Ch. audio signals when you're connecting your audio receiver with optical output.
There are 3 different EDID switches:
1. TV
2. Bitstream
3. 2Ch.
Below is the detailed information regarding the different EDID switches & you can set them according to your requirements:
TV - lets the source know to set the audio signal that's supported by the device connected to the HDMI output port.
Bitstream - lets the source know that output supports 5.1Ch. or lower.
2Ch - lets the source know that outputs only supports 2Ch. or lower.
No, the optical output will only have signal when its 5.1Ch. or lower due to its limitations.
You will get 2 Ch. audio from the Analog output but it will output audio only when its set to 2.0ch or lower from the input source.
