This kit is enabled with a Power Over Cable (POC) feature so you just need to connect the power adapter to the sender (transmitter unit) and the receiver unit will receive the power via the Ethernet Cable. It also supports one-way IR control from the receiver side to send the remote IR commands to the source near the transmitter. EDID management lets you copy the EDID signal from the transmitter's loop-out display or the receiver's display.

You can extend the display devices up to 165 Feet when using with a shielded CAT6 cable.
The issue might be with the CAT cable. This might be due to the external interference of the signals & CAT5e has low bandwidth as compared to the CAT6. We recommend you using shielded CAT6 cable.
If the power and link led lights does not illuminate on the RJ45 port of the transmitter and the receiver, then the transmitter & receiver might be dead.
