Doom 2 Hell on Earth GBA Video Game Cartridge Game Boy Advance 2002
Gameboy Advance non oem reproduction Doom 2 video game cartridge. Game cartridge comes with a plastic protective case just like the picture shows.
Released on October 23, 2002, Doom II: Hell on Earth for the Game Boy Advance (GBA) is a technical conversion of the 1994 PC classic developed by Torrus Games. Unlike the first GBA port, it uses a custom "Southpaw Engine" to handle the game's significantly larger levels and complex lighting.
Key Game Features
- Massive Campaign: Includes all 32 levels from the original PC release, including the secret Wolfenstein 3D throwbacks. To manage the GBA's hardware limits, some larger maps like "Industrial Zone" and "The Chasm" are split into two parts, resulting in a total of 34 playable stages.
- Full Arsenal & Bestiary: Features the iconic Super Shotgun and all original monsters, such as the Arch-Vile, Mancubus, and the final boss, the Icon of Sin.
- Technical Improvements: Compared to the first GBA Doom, this version features a software audio mixer allowing more than two simultaneous sound effects and improved music quality that better mirrors the original MIDI soundtrack.
- Multiplayer Support: Supports 2–4 players for Co-op or Deathmatch via the GBA Game Link Cable (requires a cartridge and system for every player).
Version-Specific Differences
- Censorship: To secure a "Teen" rating, blood is colored green, and corpses disappear shortly after enemies are defeated.
- Technical Quirks: Because of the custom engine, some mechanics differ; for example, Cacodemon flight is limited (they may get stuck if they descend into pits), and monsters can now hear and react to gun sounds.
- Controls: Includes a helpful "Always Run" feature and adjustable turn sensitivity, though weapon switching requires holding L or R and using the D-pad.
