Gameboy Color non oem reproduction Duke Nukem video game cartridge. Game cartridge comes with a plastic protective case just like the picture shows.

Released in 1999, Duke Nukem for the Game Boy Color (GBC) is a side-scrolling platform-shooter that returns the series to its 2D roots. While it is often considered a port or reimagining of Duke Nukem II, it features entirely new levels, graphics, and music tailored for the handheld system.

Plot and Premise

Duke Nukem is abducted by an alien race known as the Zorgonites while participating in a book interview. The aliens intend to extract his brain to power a war machine for their conquest of Earth. Duke must escape his cell and fight through approximately 20 to 21 levels of action to defeat the Zorgonite Emperor and save the world.

Gameplay Features

  • Action Variety: The game includes traditional run-and-gun platforming, vehicle-based levels where Duke drives a tank, and side-scrolling shoot-'em-up stages where he flies a rocket ship.
  • Weaponry: Players can collect various weapons, including a shotgun (default with infinite ammo), machine gun, grenade launcher, rocket launcher, and flamethrower.
  • Level Mechanics: Duke has a more advanced move set than in previous 2D entries, with the ability to hang onto and climb ledge edges.
  • Save System: Unlike many GBC titles that used password systems, this game features a battery backup with up to eight save slots.
  • Collectibles: Each level contains five hidden letters that spell N-U-K-E-M; collecting all five grants an extra life.

Technical Details

  • Developer/Publisher: Developed by Torus Games and published by GT Interactive.
  • Content: Features 16 to 21 levels (depending on region/version) and roughly 25 different types of enemies, including zombies, mutants, and imperial guards.
  • Rating: Rated T for Teen due to mild violence and over-the-top attitude.
