Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift is a tactical role-playing game for the Nintendo DS that follows Luso Clemens, a student magically transported to the world of Ivalice after writing his name in a mysterious book. As a sequel to the Game Boy Advance hit Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, it expands the strategic "Job" system and features a refined "Law" system that rewards players for following specific battle rules. 

Key Game Features

• Massive Job System: Choose from over 50 different job classes distributed across seven playable races, including Humes, Moogles, Viera, Bangaa, Nu Mou, and the new Seeq and Gria.
• Extensive Content: The game offers a multi-faceted storyline with up to 400 available quests, ranging from main story missions to optional side adventures.
• Refined Law System: Each battle is overseen by a Judge who imposes a "Law" (e.g., "No Fire Spells"). Following the law grants Clan Privileges (stat bonuses) and extra loot, while breaking it removes these perks and prevents the revival of fallen units.
• Dual-Screen Presentation: Utilizes the DS hardware to display menus and status info on one screen while showing vibrant, hand-drawn tactical combat on the other.
• Stylus Control: The Western release allows players to command characters and navigate all menus entirely with the DS stylus.
• Final Fantasy XII Cameos: Players can encounter and recruit famous heroes from FFXII, including Vaan, Penelo, and Al-Cid. 

Story Premise

The adventure begins on the last day of school. Luso is sent to the library as punishment for his mischievous behavior and discovers the Grimoire of the Rift. Upon writing his name in the blank pages, he is sucked into Ivalice and joins Clan Gully, led by a hunter named Cid. Together with the talented thief Adelle, they search for a way to complete Luso's "story" in the journal so he can return home.
