As the first 3D installment in the Zelda series, it is widely considered one of the most influential video games ever made, pioneering mechanics like Z-targeting (lock-on combat) and context-sensitive buttons that became industry standards

The game follows the young hero Link as he embarks on a quest to stop the Gerudo King, Ganondorf, from obtaining the Triforce, a sacred relic with godlike power. 

• Time Travel: The central mechanic involves Link traveling seven years between his childhood and adulthood. By pulling the Master Sword from its pedestal in the Temple of Time, Link is sealed away until he is old enough to become the "Hero of Time".

• Side Quests: The game is filled with optional activities, including fishing, collecting 100 Gold Skulltulas for rewards, and an extensive item-trading sequence to earn the powerful Biggoron's Sword.
