In Supaplex, players control a red, Pac-Man-like character named Murphy. The objective is to collect a specified number of Infotrons—glowing, atom-like objects—and reach the exit in each level. The game comprises 111 levels, each presenting intricate puzzles and challenges. Players can skip up to three levels, but to complete the game fully, all levels must be finished. 

Unlike its predecessor, Boulder Dash, Supaplex is not strictly grid-based. Objects can occupy positions between grid spaces, leading to unique movement behaviors and exploitable bugs that are sometimes essential for solving complex levels.

  • Orange: Behave like Zonks but explode upon impact.

  • Yellow: Can be pushed in any direction and detonate when activated via Terminals.

  • Red: Collectible and can be dropped to explode after a short delay.

• Ports: Directional gates that restrict movement to specific directions.

• Terminals: Devices that trigger the explosion of connected Utility Disks.

The game's environment is designed to resemble the interior of a computer, with elements like printed circuit boards and RAM chips forming the backdrop.
